Or anyone who knows much about old metal, actually-- Google so far is not helping.

My great-grandmother was a knitter, and I have inherited many of her old needles. Some of them are clearly usable; some are just as clearly shit (and one rather notorious pair broke as I was testing them!). In the middle are some old metal needles that have some sort of corrosion on them. I have no damn idea how I could clean them-- anyone got any ideas?

Methods and Materials

All fics in memories and at my sadly neglected website. I still like that layout. Many of my drabbles are not memoried, or are in meme posts that I haven't bothered with, but I'm just doing tihs for fun, so what the hell.

This means there are...fifteen archived at the website (I wrote more DBZ than I'd remembered, and I can't remember where I put the bonobos story), and about 70 at the journal, to make...85. My.

Interesting that Mamoru doesn't use an honorific addressing Rex. She 'sama's him, which I expect, but I'm surprised there's nothing at all addressed to her. Mamoru seems to keep distance with language as much as drawing people close, so the lack of honorific might be a sign of affection-- calling her 'kun' would seem weird. Thoughts?

I am caught up to the Adult Swim releases, so I know a lot of Renji's Angsty Backstory, and I also know some minor hints about backstory. (Well, okay, MAJOR BACKSTORY SPOILERS in one character's case, but I digress.)

...and I don't get it. How the hell does the afterlife work? Rukia and Renji seemed to age there, so you don't exactly stop living, but... can you have kids? (this is where that ONE MAJOR BACKSTORY SPOILER) comes in. WHAT IS THE DEAL?

I mean, Yami's easy. You die, you go to the afterlife. You have emo, you hang around until you feel better. You have GIANT SOUL-CRUSHING EMO, you become a shinigami. You don't age, you just hang around. EASY.

But Bleach? I DON'T GET IT.

Can anyone explain without megaspoilers?

My story was So Bright (The Timbuk 3 Remix), written from daegaer's brilliant Five Lives Brad Crawford Never Lived. As you may have guessed from my question a good while back about German oops.

I almost wrote a Phoenix-Wright-ish fusionfic with Brad the Lawyer from that Remix (that was when I asked about utter crack), but I wasn't happy with the way it jelled, and was afraid I'd never compare to "Big Manly Kidnappers" from last year. Cause pretty much nothing can.

I still might write Brad the Lawyer one of these days.

daegaer wrote one of my remixes as well, so it's all a lovely full circle. Though I still need to see who the goldfish-mixer was.
